Dr. Kristin Trott wanted to be a veterinarian from a very young age due to her keen interest in science and animals. Originally from the north Bay Area, Dr. Trott worked as a veterinary technician for a few years leading up to veterinary school. She graduated from UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 while simultaneously obtaining a Ph.D. in Immunology with an emphasis on infectious diseases. She had initially planned to pursue a career in research in infectious diseases and immunology but soon opted to work in a busy general practice for several years before transitioning to emergency medicine in 2017 at SPEC.
Dr. Trott says, "I find immense satisfaction in delving into the intricate pathophysiology of diseases, unraveling the diagnostic process step by step, and exploring the underlying science and technology behind obtaining those diagnoses. However, nothing compares to the profound reward of restoring health to sick animals and reuniting them with their pet parents."
Outside of work, Dr. Trott enjoys spending time with her pets and family, gardening, cooking, hiking with her dog, and coaching youth soccer.
